We are a Direct-Pay practice. This means we work for you, not an insurance company. Our pricing is transparent with no hidden facility fees or surprise bills. For your convenience, we keep a secure card on file and process payment at the time of your visit.
Why don't you bill insurance directly?
By removing the 'middleman,' we restore the doctor-patient relationship. Our time is spent on your health strategy, not on administrative paperwork or insurance-mandated 'check-box' medicine. This allows for longer appointments and a more comprehensive holistic approach.

Can I use my insurance for labs and other services?
While we do not bill for our own services, you may be able to use your insurance for external services like lab tests. We can provide you with the necessary lab order, which you would then present to the lab provider (e.g., Quest, LabCorp) who can bill your insurance directly.
What is a superbill and can you provide one?
A superbill is a detailed receipt of the services you received and paid for. It includes all the information an insurance company would need to potentially reimburse you for an out-of-network provider. We can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. We cannot guarantee your insurance company will reimburse you, as policies vary greatly.
Do you offer in-person appointments ?
No, all of our appointments are conducted via telehealth. This allows us to provide convenient and accessible care from the comfort of your home .
Can you prescribe all medications via telehealth?
We prescribe a wide range of metabolic and sleep-supportive medications. Please note that federal regulations require an in-person visit for certain controlled substances. If your treatment plan requires these, we will help you coordinate care with a local provider or discuss non-controlled alternatives that fit our telehealth model.
Can you help with CPAP therapy?
We specialize in CPAP Freedom. We can coordinate with your insurance’s equipment provider, but many of our patients choose our 'Direct-Buy' path. This often bypasses high deductibles and eliminates 'adherence tracking'—where insurance companies monitor your sleep data to decide if they will keep paying for your machine.
Who is SleepWeight MD for?
Who is SleepWeight MD NOT for?
While we strive to provide excellent care, our practice model may not be the right fit for everyone. SleepWeight MD is likely not for you if:
You want to use your health insurance for our services. We are a cash-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. If your primary goal is to use your insurance for appointments, co-pays, and to meet your deductible, we may not be the most suitable option.
You have Medicare or Medicaid. At this time, federal law prevents us from seeing Medicare or Medicaid beneficiaries, even on a self-pay basis. We hope to see these regulations change in the future to allow for more patient choice.
You have a complex medical condition that requires in-person physical exams or frequent lab tests. While we can order labs, our telehealth-only model is not a substitute for a traditional in-person practice, which is better suited for certain conditions that require hands-on physical examinations, imaging, or immediate in-person care.
You have an urgent medical issue or an emergency. We are not a replacement for urgent care or emergency services. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, you should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

How do I communicate with the doctor between appointments?
We value your time and accessibility. Once you are an established patient, you will have access to our secure text-first communication line. No more waiting on hold or navigating complex phone trees—expert answers are just a message away.
